Hyatt- An Opportunity for Bangladesh

Bangladesh has become a land of opportunity for almost all kinds of industry, depending on its developing economy and increasing quality of living. One of the industries could be Hotel industry. Already we have high class, top rated, international branded hotels like- Pan Pacific, Radisson, Westin. One of the big chains of international Hotel is 'Hyatt'. And I believe this hotel chain has an opportunity in Bangladesh as well. 

Before that, let's see what Hyatt is.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is an American international company and operator of hotel. The Hyatt Corporation came into being upon purchase of the Hyatt House, at Los Angeles international airport, on September 27, 1957. The company has always targeted high upper class people, with exclusive service around the world. 70% of the hotels are solely owned by the parent company. Some of the hotels are franchised also. Two of the main hotel type is Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt. Grand Hyatt is mostly for business executives on the job travelling.

Park Hyatt's demographic is upper-class professionals with disposable income who are looking for an exclusive property. I think if the Hyatt Corporation wants they can bring into Park Hyatt into Bangladesh. Most of the Park Hyatt is situated near beautiful landscape or natural spectacular resources. Bangladesh has an extraordinary ocean and green beauty, with a high profitable tourism future. Cox’s bazaar, Saint Martin, Chittagong these are all options with scenic beauty. If these places are nurtured with proper management and architectural fineness, they can bring huge amount of money to the country.

Also even in this condition of our economy, I believe it’s not hard to maintain either. Because there are noticeable number of Hyatt hotel in our neighboring countries. India, Nepal, Maldives have Hyatt hotels. In India and Maldives they have Park Hyatt, located near ocean or sea. Even the hotels have become tourist spot. All these hotels have luxury rooms, spas, kids’ facility and everything. If they can pull it off, then we can too.

But to go for this step, we need to shape up a little bit. Hyatt looks for stable country condition to set up a business. Recently Hyatt has expanded to Bangkok, Phuket, Bangalore, Noida, New Delhi – all of these are within our region. If Hyatt is interested there, then we can also attract them to come to Bangladesh. All we need is diligence and Govt. cooperation. With this we can also bring one of the biggest Hotel chain in our country. This can be one crucial step ahead to the tourism and hospitality industry.
